We have designed and built many bespoke handmade kitchens this year, and we wanted to show you this classic style in particular up close and in more detail. A different style, colour, design and layout with a few bespoke features.
Hadley Wood project
Built within a grand property that recently underwent renovation works, the owners decided to take the plunge and build a kitchen of their dreams with a Nicholas Bridger kitchen at its core. Built on the back of the property with an L-shaped room layout we worked with interior designer @andreamaflininteriors on this project to create a successful open-plan space that can be enjoyed by all the family.⠀⠀
With a huge amount of floor space, the design could feature elements such as a large bookcase, long island and drinks/pantry cupboard with a ladder made from walnut. Each zone is divided with a different colour scheme and style. The kitchen has two different entrances to the garden which are beautiful. They connect the internal space to the outdoors with so much natural light.
The brief was to create a multi-functional space as well as being relaxing and socialising with family and friends. Every inch of space was utilized perfectly.
Hand-painted in a two-tone colour scheme
- Slate V165 by Paint and Paper Library – main kitchen area, bookcase and dresser.
- Hicks Blue 208 by Little Greene – island
The main kitchen area is completed with open shelves to store dry ingredients in glass Kilner jars, a Shaws of Darwin double bowl, a Perrin & Rowe tap, a Quooker for instant boiling water, and a symmetrical layout designed with NEFF appliances.
The island was designed to take centre stage, to provide form and function to the large open-plan space, with a cooking area, seating area and large worktop space – Noble Carrara quartz.
The bar/dresser with a walnut ladder was a first for us. It’s made up of glass-fronted cabinets, a wine rack and lots of storage for glassware, special china and alcoholic beverages. The ladder simply glides across reaching to the upper cabinet, and when not in use it just hooks off and goes on the rail at the left taking the ladder off the floor.
The bookcase fills this corner of the kitchen beautifully. Finished with a mirrored backdrop and a quartz worktop, this bookcase is simply stunning. Below we designed drawers and cupboards with bespoke chopping boards and a serving tray.
