A Bespoke Dresser/Drinks Cabinet

In this existing part of our clients home in Hadley Wood, we designed and manufactured something truly unique for our client. Our client took inspiration from Pinterest for their new kitchen extension. They came across a bespoke ladder, designed to reach those higher cupboards which typically you don’t use every day. They instantly fell in love with the design and pinned it high on their kitchen wish list.

When our clients arrived at the showroom, they were excited to tell us about this bespoke design and wanted us to incorporate it into their open-plan space. We found the perfect spot for the unit and additional ladder and built something truly spectacular – a first for us and a heart-warming and beautiful piece of furniture.

The handmade dresser design is made up of a dresser/drinks cabinet combination, in our classic shaker style of quality materials and hand-painted in Slate V165 by Paint and Paper Library. The solid cupboards are broken up with glass-fronted cabinets, that store the clients beautiful glassware. Incorporated beautifully below is a walnut wine rack that holds up to 25 bottles. Completed with Armac Martin Queslett knobs and handles.

We also integrated strip lighting within the cabinet, providing an enhanced feature, whilst backlighting the beautiful glassware.

The handmade Walnut ladder runs along an antique rail to reach the upper cabinetry and simply hooks into the desired position. When not in use, the unhooked ladder is mounted on the additional rail to the left, which is slightly higher, in order to raise it away from the floor.

The client’s furniture shown is in-frame, with a Georgian style bead, which surrounds the doors and drawers. The plinth is inset and, as a contrast to the rest of the kitchen,  the units are built at additional height to meet the traditional coving at the top of the ceiling.
