At The Handmade Kitchen Company, we have been producing handmade furniture for over two decades and have been designing them into properties across the UK, meeting every one of our client’s individual circumstances and requirements. Our handmade furniture is designed, manufactured and installed into truly bespoke kitchens that are built with pride, love and solid wood.
TV cabinetry has become increasingly popular in today’s modern home due to the kitchen being an open-plan space for all the family’s needs. A TV cabinet can provide the TV with a good sturdy base, extra storage and a design statement into the home. You can easily see the TV from all angles of the kitchen. It can be hand-painted in the colour of your choice to stand out or be complemented with the main kitchen cabinets, the choice is yours.
In this blog, we will look at a few projects with our handmade TV cabinets and how we have incorporated them into the design.
Winchmore Hill
This beautiful kitchen space we designed and built in Winchmore Hill has the perfect spot for a bespoke TV unit. Our client had lots of space in their room and chose to build a pretty little dining area in the corner with the ultimate TV cabinet and cosy seats. To match in with the rest of the kitchen design we hand-painted this in Plummett by Farrow & Ball, which is the same colour as the island. Both pieces of handmade furniture have been created to make a design statement amongst the lighter hues.
The solid traditional shaker wooden cabinet allows the family and guests to watch and join in from both seating areas. So when there’s that football match on, you can all enjoy it together in this delightful space, even when the chef is cooking up that tasty dish.
The TV was measured and a solid wooden frame was built on top and around to create a sleek finishing touch. Extra storage was built underneath and the cabinet was finished with Perrin & Rowe polished chrome knobs. A traditional skirting style plinth finishes off the bottom with a chunky oak look that will never go out of fashion.
Cuffley
This lovely open-plan space was destined for a chunky TV unit in the comfy sitting area. On a blank canvas, we designed a shelving unit of open-shelves and the perfect spot for the TV. With the blocked shelves, our client can show off their prized possessions and delicate ornaments, they have already filled them with beautiful pieces. It certainly brings personality to the room and the choice of colour from Farrow & Ball – Charleston Gray creates a warm, enveloping and hushed atmosphere.
Billericay
The project in Billericay features an open-plan space, suitable for this busy family’s daily life. A light hue of Magnolia by Little Green Paint Company was applied to the kitchen cabinets and walls for a seamless – integrated finish. The shaker style chosen for the space is our modern design which is in-frame with a flat front and recessed panel doors.
The space was big enough to incorporate three seating areas, where a TV unit proudly sits one end of the kitchen so it can be seen from all angles. It features plenty of storage underneath and has been completed with glass-fronted cabinets so our client has a place to show off their beautiful pieces of china and glass. The TV was measured and a solid wooden cabinet was made to fit.
Epping
In this lovely kitchen in Epping filled with award-winning appliances from Sub-Zero Wolf, you will find a slim tall TV cabinet that is hand-painted in Stiffkey Blue by Farrow & Ball – a very popular choice of blue. It’s a great accessory to this high-end space that’s finished in our classic shaker style.
Storage cabinets sit below and above the TV to give our client extra room, finished with chrome knobs by Perrin & Rowe. It’s the perfect spot for this bespoke TV unit, as our client and their guests can enjoy something on in the background when tasting that amazing food that has just come from that stunning Wolf Dual Fuel Range Cooker.
Henham
In the corner of this new-build property in Henham, the ideal TV cabinet sits behind the dining table. Complete with traditional style cornices and inset plinths, it’s the perfect unit to fit in amongst this classic shaker kitchen. It’s tall and slim in shape and allows our client to eat their dinner while catching up on a TV programme they recorded.
It’s been hand-painted in Down Pipe by Farrow & Ball, another popular colour choice amongst our projects.
