Traditional Shaker Style Kitchen 27 – Winchmore Hill

This stunning traditional shaker style kitchen was designed and installed for a client in Winchmore Hill in July 2019. It is a very large space which never feels too large thanks to the clever layout of the furniture and the large central island. The raised and fielded panels on the doors are super luxurious, while all the drawers are flat front panel for a unique look. We hand-painted the main kitchen areas in Cornforth White and the central island uses Plummett, both colours by Farrow & Ball. Our client is a keen chef and so wanted to make sure they chose the ultimate in cooking appliances by Wolf, here we find the Wolf Rangetop with Westin bespoke Bloque extractor, then an M-Series Professional built-in oven, convection steam oven and warming drawer. There is an abundance of storage solutions including pull out drawers with internal drawers, two large pantry cupboards and a selection of individual drawers. Perrin & Rowe taps and a main sink were chosen, along with a further sink in the island by Kohler.

What Is Shaker Design?

Shaker furniture is a distinctive style of furniture developed by the United Society of Believers in Christ’s Second Appearing, commonly known as Shakers, a religious sect that had guiding principles of simplicity, utility and honesty. Their beliefs were reflected in the well-made furniture of minimalist designs. Wikipedia.
