Traditional Shaker Style Kitchen 28 – Cuffley

There is nothing more devine than our Traditional Shaker style furniture with it’s raised and fielded panels on doors and drawers. In this kitchen we find flat panel drawers on the island, and raised and fielded panel drawers on the main kitchen run. Our client in Cuffley built this house from the ground up as a new development (Search in Google for The Loft Conversion Company). We hand-painted the furniture in Charleston Grey by Farrow & Ball which creates a warm and luxury feel, not something you often find, so this is a traditional kitchen with contemporary elements. Carrara white quartz worktops were chosen to provide contrast between the dark furniture and flooring. Perrin & Rowe deck mounted taps have been combined with a Shaws of Darwen Ceramic sink.

What Is Shaker Design?

Shaker furniture is a distinctive style of furniture developed by the United Society of Believers in Christ’s Second Appearing, commonly known as Shakers, a religious sect that had guiding principles of simplicity, utility and honesty. Their beliefs were reflected in the well-made furniture of minimalist designs. Wikipedia.
