Founded and led by Nicholas Bridger, alongside his daughter Billie, daughter-in-law Paige and son Louis, the team designs, hand-builds and installs bespoke kitchens and furniture for clients across Essex, Hertfordshire and North London. As a family-run business, we have spent more than two decades perfecting our skills and passing down knowledge to the next generation. Established more than 25 years ago, we are now based at Bridger’s Barn in Bishop’s Stortford. We opened the doors to our new converted barn showroom in 2017, updated in 2024, where we have seen many clients walk through the door and seen our love for woodworking, attention to detail and our commitment to quality and outstanding service. This remains at the core of what we do!
We are different to mass-produced kitchens, our approach is personal, hands-on, and completely bespoke to every individual. Every kitchen and piece of furniture we create is crafted by our skilled artisans who care deeply about their work and are hugely valued by all at The Handmade Kitchen Company. We use only the finest materials and techniques for our bespoke furniture.
You will be engaged directly with Nicholas Bridger himself, his daughter Billie, his daughter-in-law Paige and his son Louis, who control both the design and installation operations to ensure seamless delivery of your project. It’s a true family affair!
