You can never have enough storage in your home, and if you have the space to design a boot room, we will advise you with the best possible design to see you through the years and the children growing up. The best advice we can give is to carefully think about what needs to be stored in the boot room – children’s shoes, coats, jackets, sports kit, adult’s outdoor clothing, shoes, boots, jackets, and what about the family pet? They will need somewhere for their food, treats and leads.
Some design their boot rooms adjacent to a kids zone where they can play in and when the children get older it can be turned into an overflow storage room. In this case, in the Hadley Wood project, the boot/utility room has been designed adjacent to a home gym.
You want the boot room to connect with both indoors and outdoors so the family can prepare for school, a trip, or coming in from a fresh, crisp walk with the dog. Incorporate both open and closed storage to keep a calm and balanced design aesthetic, as well as everything in one place.
We hope our boot rooms below inspire you to create something truly bespoke in your home.
Our Hadley Wood project includes a boot room that glides beautifully from the main kitchen area designed in a two-tone colour scheme. Our classic shaker was chosen with a recessed plinth to give the cabinets a more statement look. We worked with an interior designer throughout the project – Tom Hughes London.
Hand-painted in the finest finish this room offers a space for absolutely everything, from hanging space to baskets and double cupboards for items you don’t want hanging up all the time, great for seasonal jackets/coats that aren’t needed for half the year.
This solid unit is used for the laundry part of the room and sits beautifully amongst the walls. We designed a shelf above for additional baskets to store household items conveniently and a chrome rail to put coats on when coming in from the pouring rain.
Another boot room we designed was this one in Stock, Essex. It features our classic shaker style with the doors and drawers ‘in-frame’. It acts as a utility room with both the washing machine and dryer built-in amongst the furniture and plenty of storage to store outdoor wear and the dog’s essentials. The sink looks gorgeous in the middle looking out onto the garden.
The Potters Bar boot room features a different style to the main kitchen, a tongue and groove appearance and hand-painted in a lighter hue. Floor-to-ceiling cabinets fill the space and there was even room for a large wine cooler!
The tongue and groove bench is built from the finest materials and is great for putting on and removing boots and shoes when coming in and going out. It also features built-in storage and a cushion for comfort.
This space is also designed for the family’s fur baby – tall cabinets for dog treats, food, leads and other accessories and a washing machine and tumble dryer for washing the dogs bedding and towels.
