We cannot believe that it’s Christmas time once again, where has this year gone?
We are getting into the festive spirit here at The Handmade Kitchen Company. We have had a very busy year and we thank each and every one of our clients old and new.
Our handmade kitchens are lovingly crafted and aren’t just for Christmas. We design and build them for all year round and especially for the Winter. Made from solid wood and love we will give you a kitchen you have always dreamed of.
Christmas is always a busy time of year, where we spend quality time with our friends and family. We are still living through the pandemic but at least we can see loved ones this year (carefully and sensibly).
In this blog, we have put together a few ideas to create a welcoming and cosy kitchen for all to enjoy this Christmas.
Make the room smell nice with Christmas scents
Around the Winter months and festive season, there are many scents such as cinnamon, winter pine and mulled wine created in candles, diffusers and potpourri. If it’s a good quality candle the whole space will be filled with a sense of calm and good cheer, as well as masking away those unwanted cooking smells.
These beautiful smelling scents can come in an array of designs and finishes and will look great on an island for a lovely little Christmas accessory.
Add candles for an added source of light
We spend most of our time in the hub of the home and we will certainly be using it a lot more over the festive period. We do lots of cooking and entertaining at Christmas, so we want the kitchen to be as warm and inviting as can be for our guests.
Candlelight gives a soft beautiful glow to the room. Add church candles in hurricane vases on the worktops and dining table and add magical twinkle lights entwine around, this will give the ideal mood lighting when entertaining in the evening.
Add spotlights in glass-fronted cabinets to create a cosy kitchen this Christmas.
Create an indoor garden
Create a tablescape with natural foliage, wreaths and garlands. Holly, eucalyptus and pine cones are the main natural materials to bring into your home at Christmas.
Add indoor plants to decorate your kitchen in an attractive way to create a beautiful relaxing space that will purify the air and make it a lot healthier for you and your family.
Go darker with the cabinets
Throughout the last couple of years, we have seen a rise in clients opting for blue and grey hues for their handmade kitchens. Bold, dark colours create dramatic, enveloping spaces. Create a statement piece through the island, hand-painted in an alternative colour.
Cook with an AGA
Cooking with an AGA gives your space lots of comfort, warmth and delicious meals especially through the winter. They create a lovingly British handmade finishing touch to our bespoke handmade kitchens. Any AGA owner will tell you that they can’t imagine life without one.
The AGA was invented in 1922 and has been the heart of many homes for many decades. Built from cast iron and styled in many different colours this cooker is gentle on food, locks in moisture, flavour and goodness, meaning the food you serve tastes delicious just as intended.
All of us at The Handmade Kitchen Company would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to hearing from you and designing more handmade kitchens in the new year.
