Glass-fronted cabinets are an excellent choice in the kitchen if you want to mix up a solid wood design. It allows you to keep your shelves neat and tidy showcasing those beautiful decorative items. Glass can come in an array of shapes and sizes, but if there is a large area that proves a little ambitious try building it into top sections of your cupboards or into a stand-alone dresser.
In this blog, we will show you examples of bespoke glass-fronted cabinets in an array of styles we have designed for our clients.

Below is a lovely symmetrical design we built for our client in Potters Bar. It’s part of an L-shaped layout and is designed in the corner by the sink area. These glass-fronted cabinets break up a row of solid wooden units making the best place to store the best glass and finest china.
Glass-fronted cabinets not only break up the monotony of repetitive solid doors, but they add both form and function. They can also create an illusion of depth in smaller kitchens, where light flows through particularly in the darker corners and allows you to see what you have and where you have put things.
Glass-fronted cabinets on a dresser look particularly striking showing off those beautiful glasses or fine china in a stylish way. You can add integrated mood lighting to the cabinet to ensure you finest pieces are never forgotten. This type of lighting can also provide an ambient light source when entertaining in the evening or enjoying a romantic dinner. When a dresser is used in the right place, your kitchen can certainly look more spacious.
Our client in Broxbourne, arranged each shelf in an orderly manner using the symmetrical rule in their gorgeous dresser.
We built this wonderful dresser in our Potters Bar project and hand-painted it in Charleston Gray by Farrow & Ball. It merges the look and feel of the main kitchen and the open-plan space. The warm and muted grey with brown undertones creates a warm, enveloping and hushed atmosphere, which is perfect for this home in the countryside.
They can even be designed onto handmade bars! Glass has a purpose of creating illusion and depth and increases the perception of a square foot especially in smaller spaces.
This is one of our favourite bespoke and unique designs to date. Because this home in Bishop’s Stortford has two areas for the kitchen there was enough space in this part to create and build a handmade bar, wow!
It features curved solid front cabinets around the bottom, with two drawers above. On top of this glass curved cabinets fit either side with open-shelving set in the middle with an antique glass splashback. We are loving the purple ambient lighting that has been added to set the mood and create a story that welcomes friends and family to this historic property in the country.
