An annexe is a perfect solution if you are looking to downsize without giving up the family home or if you are looking for the ideal accommodation for an elderly relative. Even first-time buyers who are struggling to get onto the property ladder opt for a garden annexe for the short term.
Our client in Woldingham, Surrey lives in a 20th-century mansion and built an annexe for her parents so they could be close by. We were asked to design and come up with something truly wonderful that everyone could enjoy as well as be practical for the space. We were so excited to create this one and we were so pleased with the outcome!
We carried on with the traditional cabinets from the main kitchen and made this small space look spacious and a place where everything you need is all together for who uses it. We built a unit with cupboards and drawers which included an induction hob, sink, tap, microwave, dishwasher drawer, fridge/freezer and plenty of storage.
Within the traditional furniture, you will find a walnut interior that looks wonderful. It really fits in well with the traditional features and looks stunning against the lighter hues.
The whole unit is floor-to-ceiling with traditional style cornices and a recessed plinth giving a timeless appeal. The panels are in-frame and recessed featuring a cock bread. There are 6 drawers in total all on a soft close and full extendable runners, while the main kitchen area is hidden by bi-fold doors.
Beneath the hob sits the most functional drawer – a dishwasher drawer.
And just like magic, it can be closed away when not in use with the bi-fold doors and fully operational when open. It looks sleek, simple and truly breathtaking. Our client couldn’t believe their eyes when they stepped foot in the room and saw it.
One very happy client!
