Traditional Lay-On 39 – Chelsea, London
Now, this is what you call unique. Designed within a flat in the heart of Chelsea where smart boutiques and high-end restaurants lie is our bespoke Lay-On design with large mouldings. The beautiful panel mouldings instantly draw the eye and give this quirky property so much character.
Our clients needed a space that matched their personalities.
The whole kitchen is hand-painted in RAL 9016 Traffic White. It’s a fantastic white paint shade with a faint touch of grey. The tones deep within are the perfect base for any colour scheme, pairing with bold dark tones and light pastel shades equally as effective. This versatile colour also lends itself to being the ideal complement to either new or old buildings.
To break up the run of cabinets and on either side of the mantle we added fluted glass door cabinets with glass shelves. This became the perfect place for mugs and glasses. Our client wanted to make everything quirky about their kitchen project.
To bring out the smart dark grey veins from the Quartzite worktops, a black Smeg Victoria Pyrolytic Built-In Single Oven and a black Smeg Victoria Traditional Compact Combination Microwave Oven were placed above one another. This really set the mood.
Underneath that gorgeous bespoke handmade mantle a Smeg Ceramic Hob sits in front of that divine and luxurious splashback.
Something a little different on the drawers is the split drawer fronts that allow the design to still be impacted by the large mouldings and stop it from becoming too busy.
Take note of the walnut carcasses too, our client wanted the white cabinetry to contrast.
Let’s talk about the worktop. It is the Bianco Eclipsia Quartzite, a wonderful choice for this white kitchen design. The grey undertones from the white cabinetry were picked out to match the white and grey marbled mottled effect, simply breathtaking.

Under one of the windows in this second-floor flat is the sink area complete with a Villeroy & Bosch Farmhouse 80 Double Sink and a Hansgrohe Talis M54 270 Single Lever Kitchen Mixer with pull-out spray in stainless steel. A beautiful feature with plenty of room.
