Classic In-Frame Shaker 97 – Whittlesford

Ticking every box on the client’s wish list, here is our single galley layout project located in Whittlesford. The owners of this property in this beautiful village embarked on a new project, transforming their outdated kitchen into something truly special, a Handmade Kitchen Company design at its core.

Defined by strong coloured cabinets and characterful quartz worktops, this design scheme brings a modern twist to our Classic In-Frame Shaker. Honouring traditional elements, it seamlessly integrates classic craftsmanship with details such as traditional cornices and a cock beaded front frame to ensure a timeless style.

At the hub is a generous-sized island where conversations can take place and cherished memories can be made with family and friends. Its large proportions meant that we could include an induction hob and surface hood that was close to the versatile cooking area.

To give the kitchen space a generous and indulgent colour, our client opted for this deep indigo hue – Dock Blue by Little Greene.

The space is equipped with AEG appliances. Ranging from sleek banked ovens and an advanced cooktop located in the centre of the island to an AEG Wine Cooler on the opposite side. A chunky Samsung fridge/freezer is found amongst the appliances built along the main run.

Designing a bank of appliances is rising, where it creates a flexible and functional cooking zone within the kitchen. Installing appliances at eye level offers ease of use and proves a valuable choice for modern homeowners.

Adding to the cooking area on the island is a Westin Lisser cooker hood. Discreet in design, it smoothly and quietly retracts into the worktop and people have fallen in love with it because of its brilliant yet stylish simplicity.

A traditional positioning of a sink is underneath a window and that’s exactly where it was placed in this project.

Connecting to the industrial and modern vibe of this kitchen is the choice of a Quooker Classic Nordic round in Nickel. The instant boiling tap is met with a Perrin & Rowe Oberon Monobloc C Spout Tap, also in Nickel and the sink is Blanco.

This type of sink is a nod to the heritage of a shaker kitchen.

One of the stand-out features in this blue kitchen is the breakfast pantry. An essential part of today’s modern kitchen, a place to keep the items you need close to hand and your worktops clutter-free. It has been beautifully crafted with bi-fold doors and storage options for the microwave, toaster and work surface space.

To complement the bold blue of the cabinets, we’ve coupled Dock Blue with Polished Nickel Handles and Knobs from Armac Martin. Our client opted for the Sparkbrook collection, a design favouring subtle industrial accents. The diamond knurl is what gives this handle its distinctive look.

Further elevating the design and function of the kitchen is the Heartly Grey worktop. The right worktop elegantly ties a kitchen design together and this particular one ticks all the boxes for durability and high design.

Our new project is a true testament to the evolving role of the modern kitchen. From the layout to each of the finishes, each element has been thoughtfully curated to deliver a spectacular kitchen in a country home.
