Classic In-Frame Shaker 31 – Bishop’s Stortford

A beautiful Classic Shaker In-Frame kitchen in a Grade II listed property in Bishop’s Stortford. There is such a wonderful mix of materials and colours which just work perfectly to create a kitchen with absolute charm.

The central island is so functional, with seating for 4 people on the curved breakfast bar with turned solid oak support beneath the Bianca Eclipsia Quartzite. The island incorporates a selection of drawers and doors on both long sides, a Sub-Zero wine cooler, solid oak chopping boards and a solid oak serving tray complete with engraving.

Farrow & Ball Brinjal has been hand-painted onto the island and the rest of the furniture has been hand-painted in Farrow & Ball Dove Tale.

  • Brinjal takes its name from the beautifully deep and shiny skin of the aubergine, creating a warm and highly sophisticated finish.
  • Dove Tale is perfect for those who are hoping for a warm grey finish. It’s a warm grey with lilac undertones.

Impressive-looking Wolf appliances were at the top of the kitchen wish list – trust us, they perform as well – if not better than – their looks! The same goes for the Westin extractor, quiet and efficient.

In the main kitchen area, we find this wall which is where all the cooking happens, with the Wolf Induction Hob and Wolf M-Series Professional appliances. Westin bespoke extraction was fitted above the hob. Beautifully integrated beneath the original wood beams of the property.

Talking of the Sub-Zero Wine Cooler, it is dual zone allowing you to keep both White and Red wines at their optimal temperatures. A pull-out full-height drawer takes care of storing mixers ready to serve the drinks on the solid oak engraved serving tray.

The popular trend nowadays is staying at home and entertaining family and friends. What better place to do this than gathering everyone in your kitchen with the ultimate handmade home bar at your fingertips?

We built a custom dresser/bar featuring curved glass which was a first for us. This bar is located opposite the Sub-Zero Wine Cooler.

This delightful bar we created in our Bishop’s Stortford project offers many storage solutions. They include; solid front curved corner cabinets on the bottom, two drawers, and two frontal kitchen cabinets, all with a soft close. Above this, two glass curved cabinets sit on either side with an open-shelving set in the middle in front of an antique glass splashback, offering the ideal storage solution for glasses.

The cornices, pelmets & plinths on the bar are curved to suit the characteristics of this Grade II listed property which is such a beautiful design.

As we all know homes adapt to multi-functional needs and we’ve embraced the challenge by designing this bespoke room that includes functions of a boot room, utility and pantry. It streamlines daily tasks and provides flexibility for the entire family.

We recognise that not every home has the space for a separate utility/boot room, however, even compact areas can cleverly integrate both functions through thoughtful planning and skilful design.

The design of this room is also perfect for a dog-loving family. It’s been designed with the rest of the home in mind and very much for the beloved family pet. The four-legged friend can rest underneath the bespoke cabinetry away from the hustle and bustle, and there’s plenty of dedicated storage for treats, dog leads and walking accessories.

Farrow & Ball Dove Tale continues through to this room.

It’s the galley part of the kitchen, which features the main sink, fridge/freezer, pantry cupboards and utility appliances.

Selecting a professional fridge freezer has added to the award-winning list of appliances we find in this home. This is the Sub-Zero Fridge Freezer in a 1057mm width with professional handle and french door fridge with freezer drawer.

The sink and tap here are impressive and beautiful, by the trusted Perrin & Rowe brand name. The deck-mounted tap is the Ionian polished chrome, with a boiling water tap, rinse and hand wash station. The sink is their Shaker 900 ceramic double bowl sink. You might also spot the Insinkerator® food waste disposal unit.

Some further details in this area include a drawer-within-a-drawer storage with peg board hidden behind what appears to be a set of doors, this is the same below the sink where we have a single drawer for all the washing up utensils and then the stunning Armac Martin Merrick door knobs.
