A truly bespoke kitchen provides you with a stunning style that will be loved for many years to come. The real beauty behind it all and what we can truly appreciate is when we use it. A kitchen layout that is ergonomic will help you glide seamlessly from task to task and provide easy access to every kitchen essential you require.
There are many options that you can include in the design of your drawer and we will show you these below.
When it comes down to storage, drawers are becoming more and more popular to store crockery as this enables you to lift items out from above rather than reaching into a cupboard with it stacked high. With plates, bowls, etc laid out in drawers, it keeps everything neat and tidy and within easy reach.
Our client below in the Mapesbury project went for a unique design with a combination of traditional and contemporary. It features traditional moldings to a contemporary handleless door – a first for us. The large drawers situated on the island feature a ‘J’ style handle which is hidden and lets you reach over the top to pull it out. This works wonderfully with what the drawer is used for. Our client decided to fill these drawers with their crockery making it easier to reach in and pull out what is needed.
Stack your crockery neat and tidy within the drawers and add pegboards to hold in place. They can easily be adjusted if your crockery collection was to change.
Solid wooden drawers are featured here in the Bishop’s Stortford project, with a classic shaker style and a pegboard at the bottom to hold in place that beautiful crockery. The drawer front has been designed to look like it’s two cupboards, and when you pull on those shiny Armac Martin handles a second drawer at the top glides smoothly out too allowing you to store extra plates.
When it comes to storing heavier items such as pots, pans, and casserole dishes like Le Creuset the runners will need to be able to cope with the weight. When talking with your kitchen designer and designing your dream kitchen you need to discuss what drawers will be used for the heavy items so that the appropriate runners are manufactured.
When designing with our client in Hadley Wood we discussed what the drawers would be used for around the impressive Wolf range cooker. Because of the heavy items that were going to be placed in these drawers, appropriate runners were manufactured to cope with the weight when pulling them out on those polished chrome Armac Martin knobs.
The two bottom drawers pull out with a secondary drawer and there are two slim drawers on either side perfect for baking tins etc.
