Why a Luxury Bespoke Kitchen?

Kitchens are the centre of the home and the place in which we cook, relax and entertain family and friends. Here at The Handmade Kitchen Company we have many years of experience and understand the importance of how having a luxury bespoke kitchen designed for your individual needs and aspirations is a great idea.

A kitchen renovation isn’t a small project and has to be carefully thought out. We have a team of in-house experts who will get to know you and understand the available space you have to create your dream kitchen. Are you a budding chef? A person who loves to host dinner parties? The design we will create for you will be down to your personal and individual needs, not only complementing the style of your home but leaving you with a space that’s functional whatever you choose it for.

Every kitchen at The Handmade Kitchen Company is beautifully crafted for a millimetre perfect fit. How we achieve this is, we carry out a meticulous series of measurements throughout the process that leaves nothing to chance. The tightest of corners and tricky alcoves will be filled with our beautiful handmade cabinetry leaving no space wasted.

If you design your kitchen on paper before any building work begins means that we can explore numerous layouts that may not be possible when structural work is complete. Every kitchen design is bespoke to you and your home where it can be adapted to suit your needs.

Choosing the colour for your kitchen design is critical to the success of it. Will you choose a bold colour to make a statement, or a neutral tone to complement an existing striking architecture? Any colour that you choose will be matched perfectly with the work surface, hinge, handle and flooring to create an exquisite bespoke kitchen just for you.

For most homes today the kitchen is the hub of the home, and many people ask a few questions along the way of the design process.

How are small kitchen spaces designed?

When it comes to designing small spaces, there are many smart ways to make your kitchen feel spacious. Opt for light paint colours and reflective metallics with bright quartz worktops or a mirrored splashback. Adding mirrors will give depth and make the mind think there is more room than there actually is. You want to use every bit of space possible, designing in floor-to-ceiling to get the full height of the room, building cabinets into every nook and the use of an island if you have the room. An island will take up floor space but it will benefit your kitchen with more storage, prep space and a place to gather and socialise.

How do we plan the perfect kitchen layout?

Planning the perfect kitchen layout is all about practicality and what do you want from the space. Every home and family are different, so the space needs to be cleverly designed with every unit positioned perfectly. So, how you use your kitchen every day will have an influence on the type of storage you will need. The ‘kitchen triangle’ is a great idea to use where the sink, oven and fridge are at each point with easy access between all three of them making it an efficient working space.

If you have a large space, consider an open-plan room with multiple zones breaking it down into dedicated areas. The whole area will work within each other and the overall flow will improve. An island centred into the middle can divide the different zones.

How can I just add a subtle splash of colour?

To add a soft introduction of colour to the kitchen is to consider painting the kitchen island an alternative hue for contrast and depth. You could even think about painting the internals of a glass-fronted cabinet. There are so many colours to choose from, a beautiful palette awaits you from dark sultry blues to refreshing greens, all with timeless qualities to ensure your luxury bespoke kitchen looks ageless for years to come.

What storage is available for me and my compact space?

Using smart internal storage in the cabinets is essential as it allows us to use every cm that’s available. Storage is the success and style of every kitchen and makes it as multi-functional as it can be. Inner drawers, spice racks, artisan shelves and bottle racks are wonderful options. Add tall cabinets to one side of the kitchen with the opposite wall left empty, or add open-shelving to give an illusion of more space.
