We are proud to offer a unique ‘truly bespoke’ service, from the design to the manufacturing of our client’s kitchens and furniture and recently we designed a fully accessible corner larder for our client in Hadley Wood, which is a unique solution to an awkward situation.
The problem: Wasted space in the corner, base cabinet only, inaccessible storage, confusing layout.
The solution: Easy access larder, pocket doors, full-height cabinet, accessible storage, ideal layout.
Normally, most kitchens waste space in the corner by either making it inaccessible or completely blocking it with an appliance and services, however in this scenario with this L-shaped kitchen, Nick came up with the perfect solution…
…a full-height corner larder with pocket doors.
What are the advantages of this design then?
1) The pocket doors swing open individually without colliding and slide into the cabinet housing inside concealed cavities. The runner system is over-engineered as specified by us to last as long as our kitchens do and provide a nice operating weight and friction which gives you the confidence to open the doors like you would any other door.
2) The wide opening offered by the pocket door system ensures you can easily reach the rearmost portion of each shelf.
3) The doors can be left open for anything from preparing food, entertaining, breakfast time or all day – it’s up to you.
4) You can opt for any number of shelves, drawers, no drawers, wine rack, power outlets, quartz worktop…remember it’s bespoke!
