Handleless In-Frame Shaker Kitchen 88 – Chelmsford, Essex

In the heart of the birthplace of radio, Chelmsford, we connected an industrial style with our handleless shaker to create something that wouldn’t be just a ‘WOW’ factor but a multi-purpose space for everyone to love and enjoy. The handleless style is becoming more and more popular with our clients, with this one being a little different due to the contemporary take on the In-Frame shaker-style door. Opening the cupboards and drawers has never been easier, as they have been designed with a finger pull.

Our client was seeking a balance between refinement and the edgy undertones the industrial look can offer. Searching for the best neutral colour palette to match their modern home, Down Pipe and Blackened from F&B were chosen. We hand-painted the island in the dramatic lead grey and the rest of the cabinetry was hand-painted in the coolest white with a slight hint of grey.

Having an extension built on the back of the home, was the perfect idea to build a dream kitchen, as well as an open-plan space that could look out onto the great outdoors. Clean lines, exposed brick, stainless steel award-winning appliances and a kitchen island were the main features we came across on the mood boards presented to us at the design consultation.

The team at HMK proudly designed a careful, thought-out industrial-style shaker kitchen that speaks volumes about the client’s style and taste.

Amongst this aesthetic trend in interior design, we find the room bursting with sleek appearances from Sub Zero & Wolf appliances. These award-winning appliances are very much suited to the industrial style, with their raw edge design and innovative features making you the best cook around!

The single galley layout features a Sub-Zero fridge/freezer on one side of the main run and a Wolf Steam Oven, a Wolf Oven and a Wolf Warming Drawer on the other. Set amongst the island we find a Wolf Range Top and a Sub-Zero Drinks Fridge.

Adding to the main kitchen run is this fresh and luxurious sink area featuring stainless steel details. A Clearwater Infinity Smart Butler brushed stainless steel sink met with a Quooker Fusion Round in stainless steel.

Take note of the above open shelf. This allows for the area to be finished with favourite china pieces, a fresh plant and other details that can be added to the space without the need to take up worktop space. The idea of having an open shelf above the sink area is sometimes used because the sink area isn’t underneath a window.

Another material that was used throughout the kitchen design is the quartz worktop. Artemistone Carrara Nuvo was the chosen stone, featuring a white backdrop and grey prominent veins, perfect for a modern home.

Rounding this kitchen up in a description is how the rugged and raw style emphasizes simplicity, practicality and functionality while incorporating the textures and materials of industrial beauty!
