This kitchen doesn’t need an introduction because the beautiful pictures of this space speak for themselves. A modern home that boasts 4 bedrooms and a renovation of the downstairs space to build this impressive open-plan area showcasing our bespoke handmade Classic In-Frame Shaker Kitchen. In the design we completed the end panels with T&G and all hinges are soft close.
The kitchen is raised on a platform consisting of a simple layout of a ‘U’ that includes base cabinets, wall cabinets and a large floor-to-ceiling unit that houses a Sub-Zero 42 inch Fridge Freezer which our client already had.
There was plenty of room to incorporate a kitchen island in the middle, hand-painting this in Down Pipe – a dramatic lead grey that gives a fantastic zeal. You will also notice a curved edge on one side of the island, perfect for seating three guests comfortably.
The combination of the two colours used in this kitchen space are simply stunning together – our client certainly chose well. Let’s talk about them.
Dimpse by Farrow & Ball was hand-painted onto the wall cabinets and the bespoke handmade mantle. This cool and delicate grey works particularly well in modern architectural spaces working alongside Down Pipe for a clean finish that is conducive to minimal living.
Down Pipe by Farrow & Ball was hand-painted on to the base cabinets and island. As previously said this dramatic lead grey hue is daringly dark and fabulous as a background to art and works well with Dimpse.
We love talking about the appliances used in our kitchen designs because they have a huge part to play in how the space functions. Each appliance is set out in different areas but still close by to maintain the ‘kitchen triangle’.
We have already briefly touched on the Sub-Zero 42-inch Fridge Freezer which is located in its own unit with a full-height pull-out pantry on the side. To add to this our client also had their own Wolf Range Cooker which we implemented into the design along the base of the ‘U’ layout, built underneath a stunning bespoke mantle with large corbels.
Other appliances include a Sub-Zero 610mm Undercounter Wine Storage and a Neff Built-In Microwave.
You can make the sink area so beautiful as this part of the kitchen is often overlooked. Sitting pretty underneath a large window that looks out onto the grounds is a Shaws of Darwin 1000mm double bowl sink met with a Perrin & Rowe IO Mixer with Rinse in Chrome and a Quooker Instant Hot Tap Pro 3 Classic Nordic Round also in Chrome.
Below this, you will find three of our bespoke chopping boards and a serving tray.
Luxurious worktops from Sharpstone Granite fill the space with the popular desired look of a marble style. The worktop used is the Arti Carrara Novi which flows gracefully around the room working its way up the wall with upstands, a beautiful splashback and completing the sink area with a windowsill.
To finish off the wonderful kitchen, Perrin & Rowe Large Smooth Round Knobs in Chrome & Perrin & Rowe Shell Cup Handles in Chrome were chosen. Both are perfectly suited to Shaker style cabinetry, the Shell Handle allows for an easier pull on heavier furniture and the Round Knob is simple yet elegant.
