This is a beautiful example of an in-frame classic shaker kitchen. An in-frame kitchen is where a kitchen door is inset within a frame that’s fitted to the front of the kitchen carcass.
Upon entering this spacious kitchen, we were met with a large open plan kitchen leading into a fabulous wooden framed conservatory which poured natural light into the room. There was an adjacent room that the client uses as their utility room.
This kitchen was pre-fitted with an Aga oven and it was important for the client to keep this as a main feature of the kitchen. This aspect made the project even more interesting for our craftsman. We enjoyed discussing options with the client and what options would blend harmoniously with the colour of their existing Aga oven.
We hand-painted this kitchen using a combination of Little Green ‘Basalt’ and ‘Shallows’ which we feel blend extremely well and bring focus to the Aga oven. The handles are handmade by Armac Martin. The strong brass colours look elegant when paired with neutral tones of ‘Shallows’ by Little Green.
The sink and taps we fitted are Shaw’s 1000 double bowl coupled with Quooker Classic Fusion taps in Patinated Brass. We think a double bowl sink is an absolute must-have in any kitchen as it allows you two separate basins to work with which comes in very handy when cooking!
We handcrafted and fitted this bespoke drinks cabinet into the space between the two windows. The cabinet features warm top lighting which really brings the internals to life. This space would otherwise have been lost but now the client has the perfect space preparing drinks whilst entertaining, and let’s face it the kitchen is where the parties at!
All the surfaces, including the huge island in the centre of this kitchen, are finished withSharpstone’s Bianco Valencia. There is a discreet pop-up plug socket in the centre of the island, which is incredibly useful when using electrical appliances whilst cooking or preparing food.
The end of the island features an increasingly popular circular seating area which is perfect for communal eating or enjoying a coffee whilst soaking in the view.
The client had an existing walk-in larder which we fitted with a sliding panel door which is perfect for keeping that ‘kitchen clutter’ out of sight! We also fitted bespoke drawers and shelving plus additional surface areas for preparing food.
The appliances we supplied include an over and under Sub-Zero French door fridge freezer finished in stainless steel. This impressive fridge freezer offers over 500 litres of storage volume and is the perfect addition to this beautiful kitchen.
