This property in Elstree was completed with a full renovation where the kitchen soon became the entertaining room of the home. The style combines timeless beauty with unparalleled functionality at every turn.
Featuring our Classic In-Frame shaker, it’s been inspired by Shaker design principles where sharp edges have been met with graceful curves. Complemented by tongue & groove panelling for added texture, the curved edge on the island softens the aesthetic making every element contribute to this timeless kitchen design.
Taking our attention to the colour choice and a hue we have used in previous projects, Basalt by Little Greene. Think of a midnight sky that adds a touch of drama to the space. Basalt is a timeless blue-black and is easier on the eye than pure, jet-black paint. Fill the room with lots of natural light and you will see charismatic blue undertones being drawn out.
Chrome knobs and handles from the Armac Martin Carlton collection present themselves with a subtle deco look, while the Vanilla Ice quartz worktops infuse the space with character.
Serving as a versatile centrepiece is the island and banquette seating. The lower curved seating with an oval thick oak block table top on a turned round painted base is perfectly integrated within the island. The curved design invites comfort and conversation, complemented by comfortable and stylish seating, making it an idyllic setting for breakfast mornings, hosting celebratory moments, or simply savouring your favourite coffee while catching up on Netflix.
You’ll discover the space has been equipped with Siemens appliances in a bank that creates part of the cooking zone. They include 2x Siemens Single Multi-function Ovens, a Siemens Steam Oven and a Siemens Compact Oven with Microwave. High-quality appliances are a must-have in today’s kitchen, and this culinary space is no different.
Designing a bank of appliances is becoming popular in the modern home, where it creates a flexible and functional cooking zone within the kitchen. Installing appliances at eye level offers ease of use and proves a valuable choice for modern homeowners.
Located on the main kitchen run is a Siemens Induction Hob and Westin Prime Extractor Fan adding to the streamlined cooking processes, while infusing a sleek style to this timeless classic. The hob area also features an antiqued mirror splashback to create an illusion of more space and provide a durable material for spills and splatters.
The choice of two sink areas doesn’t go unnoticed and supports our client in doing different tasks for the day. The island has been equipped with a prep sink featuring a Quooker Classic Fusion Round in Chrome with added Cube for filtered chilled and sparkling water and a Franke Ariane sink. As the kitchen island serves as the entertainment hub, this sink area is perfect for providing hot drinks in no time at all and adding fresh sparkling water to delicious, refreshing drinks.
Along the main run and underneath symmetrical cabinetry, a Perin & Rowe Rubiq Mixer Tap with U Spout and Rinse in Chrome and a Shaws Double 900 sink are found.
Breaking up the solid look of the cabinetry is a wall cabinet with a glazed glass front. Behind these beautiful doors is where a collection of glasses lies, from beautiful wine glasses to iconic Martini ones.
One of the stand-out features in this blue-black kitchen is the pantry cupboard. An essential part of today’s modern kitchen, a place to keep the items you need close to hand and your worktops clutter-free. It has been beautifully crafted with bi-fold doors, integrated LED lighting and storage options for a coffee machine and food jars.
Other storage solutions include a spice drawer, utensil tray and push-pull drawers within drawers. The island is complete with a bespoke serving tray and solid oak chopping boards.
Any open-plan space deserves our bespoke furniture especially media units, as they are a wonderful addition to any living space. We have built and designed many media units that fill an entire wall, or just a section, making a statement within any interior. Our approach strikes a harmonious blend between cabinetry and open shelving, emphasising the significance of storage space and organisation, while also reflecting our commitment to crafting designs that ooze style and sophistication.
We worked with a blank canvas in this Elstree project, factoring in the client’s requirements to produce this beautiful, unique design. We continued our classic shaker with a T&G end panel and built this stunning piece of furniture with longevity in mind. This media unit balances the practicalities of modern-day life with a timeless aesthetic.
Features and details also include – hand-painted in Basalt by Little Greene, Armac Martin Carlton Chrome Knobs and floor-to-ceiling cabinetry.
Carefully placed ceiling spotlights provide task lighting, whilst the integrated lighting under the cupboards gives the room an inviting glow after dark.
