We have the perfect solution for additional furniture beneath your window – a handmade bespoke window seat that offers beautiful upholstery and additional storage space. Many homeowners would combat this space by putting an armchair there, wasting valuable storage space as well as potentially blocking out natural light. Some homeowners might not put anything beneath their window, but why wouldn’t you?
Due to them being completely bespoke they are designed to each one of our client’s specifications and the space available. Below we look at a couple of different designs we have completed in recent projects.
Built from our traditional style and an external skirting plinth, this extra long window seat was the perfect addition to the dining space at the Chelmsford project. Completed with a padded cushion in a light hue to match other areas of the space and three large drawers to store blankets and cushions, it soon became the perfect window seat to enjoy a cup of tea or indulge in a good book.
We matched the rest of the kitchen and hand-painted this in Elephant’s Breath by Farrow & Ball.
Introducing the prettiest of window seats at the Bishop’s Stortford project designed in our classic shaker. An unusual shape but designed with an angle to keep the walkway clear and not compromise the doorway in this inviting kitchen space. Spoil yourself with gorgeous views and a place to perch or snuggle, flicking through that home magazine for your next project! Extra storage has been added too for blankets and cushions, and it definitely becomes an attractive feature in this unused bit of space that can be enjoyed by everyone.
To keep within the warm neutrals and textural beauty that are found in this property we hand-painted this window seat in Rolling Fog Dark by Little Greene.
