Traditional Shaker Style Kitchen 25 – Ongar

Traditional Shaker Style Kitchen 25 – Ongar

Features

This L-shape with island kitchen was designed, handmade and installed for a client in Ongar, Essex. The style is an in-frame Traditional Shaker with an exquisite door and drawer finish featuring a cock bead profile to the frame, with a raised and fielded front panel detail to the doors and large drawers. The kitchen has been hand-painted in Farrow & Ball Railings which is a dark hue with blue undertones, making a dramatic statement and exuding luxury.

The carcasses are oak veneered while the drawer boxes are solid oak with dovetail joints and feature full extension soft-close runners.

Our client specified the popular polished chrome taps from Perrin & Rowe, with a mini instant hot tap and rinse. The sink is by Shaws of Darwen and is a double bowl butler sink.

30mm white quartz worktops complete the look.

What Is Shaker Design?

Shaker furniture is a distinctive style of furniture developed by the United Society of Believers in Christ’s Second Appearing, commonly known as Shakers, a religious sect that had guiding principles of simplicity, utility and honesty. Their beliefs were reflected in the well-made furniture of minimalist designs. Wikipedia.
