Classic Shaker Style Kitchen 51 – High Wych, Herts
A popular classic shaker style look with a combination of blue and white furniture. The island has been hand-painted in Hague Blue and the outer L-shaped section is painted in Blackened – both colours by Farrow & Ball.
Some of our classic shaker styles incorporate a flat panel drawer with a recessed door, this kitchen also goes one step further by having recessed drawers on the island.
The taps are by Perrin & Rowe and are their Ionian deck-mounted model with level handles, a separate extending rinse and a Parthian boiling water tap. The sink is by Cape and is a large double bowl ceramic.
Finally the worktops are in a 30mm Carrara style quartz which is a popular look right through from 2017 to 2020. We can see this trend continuing.
What Is Shaker Design?
Shaker furniture is a distinctive style of furniture developed by the United Society of Believers in Christ’s Second Appearing, commonly known as Shakers, a religious sect that had guiding principles of simplicity, utility and honesty. Their beliefs were reflected in the well-made furniture of minimalist designs. Wikipedia.
