Classic Shaker Style Kitchen 50 – Bishop’s Stortford

Features

We really enjoyed breathing new life into this Grade II listed property in Bishop’s Stortford, where we designed and installed a stunning Classic Shaker kitchen with a two tone colour scheme and a selection of high-end appliances and finishes.

The central island has been hand painted in Brinjal by Farrow & Ball and is the perfect place to seat 4 people at breakfast, dinner or other occasion, plus has storage on both sides, engraved solid oak serving tray and chopping boards. A Sub-Zero wine cooler is on one side, nearest the bespoke bar.

There is a run of cabinetry including the cooking appliances of the Wolf Induction Hob, Wolf Built-in oven, Wolf Convection Steam Oven and Wolf Warming drawer. There is a Westin custom Bloque extractor above the hob.

We made a beautiful dresser/bar featuring open glass shelves and curved glass doors.

The utility/pantry room has the main sink & taps by Perrin & Rowe, Sub-Zero Fridge Freezer and dog bed. This area has been hand painted in Dove Tail by Farrow & Ball.

All handles and knobs are Armac Martin Merrick, which are beautifully finished and made in the UK.

The worktops throughout are Bianca Eclipsia Quartzite 30mm with Ogee edge profile.

What Is Shaker Design?

Shaker furniture is a distinctive style of furniture developed by the United Society of Believers in Christ’s Second Appearing, commonly known as Shakers, a religious sect that had guiding principles of simplicity, utility and honesty. Their beliefs were reflected in the well-made furniture of minimalist designs. Wikipedia.
